HWK- 2nd october 2009

Romance- Love Actually.



  • Opening Credits: People showing each other affection/ love- hugging/ kissing.
  • Diegetic Sound: Man singing a song about love
  • Two people in the bedroom male leaving for work keeps telling female character he loves her.
  • Two People doing a sexual scene
  • A male and female are getting married
  • The 'prime minister' stares at the female who works for him like he is attracted to her
  • Diegetic Sound: At the wedding a love song was being sung.
  • Male Character 'Colin' talks to his friend about looking for love in America
  • Costume: Wedding Dress- shows love because of tying the knot.
  • When the male singer is in the radio studio he is speaking about love. The wall is red represents love.
  • The film I think is intended for females and for teens up to middle age people. I could also see most women going to watch it.

Sci- Fi- X men 2

  • Opening Credit: Starts with a CGI (Computer Generated images) of space. - Technical code.
  • Blue mutant who is running lose in the white house. He can apparate.
  • A lot of mutants (People with powers)
  • People in the cafe freeze because they were made to by the professor.
  • Special machines "Cerebro" machine which tracks down Mutants.
  • Sci- Fi : Normally involves the President
  • A School for mutant has an undercover layer.
  • Talk about war (human Vs mutants)
  • A plastic confinement room
  • Professor talks about making male believe he is a girl by using his powers
  • Male puts out a cigar on his hand then his hand instantly heals.
  • Blue mutant women hacking into files- non diegetic: Violin very shape, quick tempo makes the audience feel tension.
  • The audience it tries to capture I think are male teens up to middle aged men. i think some females would enjoy it to.
  • The production company was marvel

Cowboy- Oklahoma

  • In credits and establishing shots which are also edited
  • Jumpy up beat non diegetic music
  • Place seems like it at a farm. You see barns and hay stacks.
  • Cowboy riding a horse while singing
  • There's an old woman making butter
  • Two shot- see the two characters talking
  • mid shot
  • Have Southern American accents
  • Long shot to show young woman taking in the washing
  • Is a musical too
  • Close up of the roof of a carriage
  • Diegetic sound the man sings to the women
  • Young woman sings when we first see her
  • Zoom out of the man and young woman when he finishes singing
  • You get the idea that the young man is attracted to the woman
  • Diegetic sound birds chirping
  • Non diegetic jumpy up beat music
  • The Lighting was very bright and the sun was shining
  • Costume is old fashion cowboyish, Southern Western outfits
  • It's a musical as well as a cowboy film so I think it ran be watch by anyone of any age and gender.

Horror- Halloween

  • Sharpe Piano music feels really edgey
  • In credits there's an image of a pumkin and they slowly zoom in
  • We were told the day and year
  • Zoom in on a house
  • Point of view shot so we see in the person perspective
  • Non diegetic sound it is sharp and builds tension especially since we saw the person pick up a knife
  • Down tilt when the person picks up the Knife
  • The person then stabs a women the non diegetic music gets louder
  • When the mask has been removed we see who's point of view it is a little boy
  • See a bloody knife
  • Dark lighting only a little bit of light
  • Credit then tells us where they are and the date
  • Man and woman driving in a strom.
  • Non diegetic music plays when the woman is being attacked by someone it is sharpe music that makes the audience feel tension
  • For teens and adults of any gender.

comedy- White Chicks

  • Non-Diegetic sound: Music was playing it sound like Latino music
  • Establishing shot and zooming in
  • there is a two shot of a shop keeper and ice cream delivery man
  • Man walks out from the back shaking maracas he is also the other shop keeper
  • Close up of the shop keeper who was shaking the maracas singing
  • they ask the man the flavour of the ice cream and he tells them it vanilla
  • they them show him money in a briefcase this is shown in a close up
  • shop keeper who was shaking the maracas hands over the money the starts to tell a story which is suppose to be sad but he is singing at the same time.
  • two shop keepers rip of there masks and they are really undercover cops
  • A fight breaks out between the two shop keeper and the man selling ice cream
  • when the fight breaks out non diegetic music begins to play it fast and upbeat it sounds Latino
  • They think the ice cream seller is really a drug dealer
  • the real drug seller then walks in sees the cops with guns and the ice cream seller lying on the ground with his hands up and tries to walk out.
  • the chief then comes to see the crime scene and tells them it a mess close up of the chief foot as he walks on ice cream and also they did not catch the real drug dealers
  • the shop keeper who was shaking the maracas phone rings when he is told off by the chief he answers and it his wife calling he tells her to call him later
  • degetic sound phone rings again when the chief has gone back to lecturing them and it is the chiefs phone it is the shop keepers wife again calling the chief give him his phone and walks away
  • the audience it would most appeal to is teen and adults of any gender.

What i got from the feedback about our video is that we used good close we had varied shots and used great angles, We used a very good panning shot.

The only problem was that the story line should of been more clear and we should of had better quality of sound.
